We are a group of like-minded enthusiasts with a shared belief that passion and hard work are enough. Enough to turn a crazy idea into reality. Our trigger was the strong desire to craft a solution, an alternative to the negative news and disinformation. We wanted to put the spotlight on success stories, share valuable know-how founders can learn from, and provide market analysis of the vibrant innovation ecosystems in SEE. Further, we wanted to give them the international visibility they deserve. And here we are: establishing an independent media platform for innovation journalism in Southeast Europe. Yes, that’s right – independent.
The Recursive is a community-born media, inspired by your achievements, hard work, and persistence. Our goal is to change the perspective towards the region, but also our own perception of it. From Athens, Belgarde, Bucharest, Pristina, Podgorica to Sarajevo, Skopje, Sofia, Tirana, and Zagreb. Because we are confident of the high-growth potential of the innovation ecosystems in Southeast Europe. And you are the reason for it. Because we believe we have to empower each other, create synergies and grow together.
Behind the Scenes
We dive deep and fly high to provide constructive reporting on your progress and those of the entire ecosystem. After tons of sleepless hours, exhaustive data collection and analysis, in-depth interviews, and final touch editing, so far 500 independent innovation journalism pieces focused on the region were released by the innovation storytellers of The Recursive. And this is how it has to be. Because high-impact journalism requires hard work.
But this is just the beginning. We have a far more ambitious vision. And in order for it to happen, we might need you to come closer and take a look through our perspective.
What do we dream about and need your support for
Our mission is to tell the stories of those shaping the future economy in the SEE region and make them reach the world. We dream of an independent and sustainable future of The Recursive. But our experience has shown us that the creation of reliable, fact-based, and engaging content is related to considerable costs.
We also believe that the insights into the progress of the local innovation community should remain free for everyone to consume, no matter whether you’re an upcoming innovation leader based in SEE or an international stakeholder curious about the state of the region.
