The on-demand laundry and dry cleaning service platform, co-founded by the Bulgarian Deyan Dimitrov, Laundryheap, raised $3.5m in a Series A round led by the new London-based Sova VC that focuses on early-stage B2B and B2B2C marketplaces and SaaS platforms, with the participation of the EIS Venture Capital Fund – the SidebySide Partnership.

Dubbed as the “Uber of laundry”, the startup provides door-to-door and next-day delivery service that allows users to schedule their laundry collection and delivery times and choose whether they prefer contactless delivery for their peace of mind. During the pandemic, the startup also introduced features such as virus-targeting, high-temperature anti-bacterial wash as well as carbon-free bicycle delivery.

Founded in 2014 and completely bootstrapped, Laundryheap’s app and platform are now available in 10 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and the USA and serve both individual customers and businesses. According to Dimitrov, in order to sustainably scale on-demand products, it is necessary to first ensure the perfect quality of your operations and the product itself, and that is how he explains the success behind the rapid and successful expansion of Laundryheap. Dimitrov shares that after the difficult 2020, Laundryheap will focus on making life easier for more and more people. With the new investment, the startup plans to continue expanding internationally and sustain the growth levels in the markets it currently operates.
