For the Croatian startup ecosystem, 2025 was a year of stabilization and strategic shifts. While the total investment figures didn’t match the record-breaking peaks of previous years, the focus moved toward high-quality Seed rounds and notable exits.
This performance follows a very high bar set in 2024. That year began with a massive €100M investment into Verne, bringing the H1 2024 total to €124M. By comparison, H1 2025 started more slowly with only €17.02M in top funding rounds, as the market adjusted to a more cautious global investment climate.
While early 2025 was characterized by a “funding drought,” the year ended with several significant success stories, including the acquisition of SplxAI and Airt. These moves, alongside steady Seed rounds for companies like Wasp and GlycanAge, suggest that while the capital inflow has become more measured, the maturity and exit potential of Croatian startups continue to grow.
We estimate that (counting in the rounds under €500k), total funding for Croatian startups in 2025 reached ~€47M, while €43.8M of that amount relates to the biggest rounds.
