A 3D virtual space where startups can socialize with leaders from the startup ecosystem, business angels, and VCs – the Western Balkan Summer Demo Day, is opening its digital doors on Thursday, the 27th of May. The event is organized by Impact Hub Belgrade, a network that helps startup companies find the resources and develop their businesses.
Pitch your ideas: The event will have a pitching stage for Western Balkan tech startups that are looking for an investment. Founders can also join the STUDIO X Ventures section where three startups will be selected for a 50K round of investment. Until the 20th of May, any entrepreneur can register for a 30-minute call to discover how ready they are for investment.
What are VCs looking for? The venture capital is looking for a demonstration of the international reach, founder’s diversity with different business competencies, and customers in the market of origin in the Western Balkans. They will also focus on solutions in the digital economy, like the application of audio technologies, digital media, or online collaboration.
The industries in focus this year: online collaboration tools, digital media, data analytics, cleantech, food tech, edtech, sport tech, and fintech. This edition has a special gender-diverse focus. They promote pitching to women angel investors, building relations with C-level women executives, and matching the equity-free investment with the business leadership development.
What else is happening? There will also be a cleantech Bootcamp in partnership with EIT Climate-KIC and an Audio Technologies Hackathon in partnership with Sounder. Participants can mingle in regular rooms, galleries, or on the terrace, and square. The Demo Day will have a dedicated Expo Area where all startups can showcase their projects.
