In the past 5 years, we’ve seen a boom in startups from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) developing solutions in the fintech industry. Their products allow businesses and individuals to manage their finances more easily and efficiently and aim to achieve global impact. According to a report from McKinsey, more than 20 startups are being founded every year on average in the CEE region. However, the adoption of digital finances still has a long way to go in CEE. And with AI, blockchain, and other technologies taking the world by storm, we’re eager to see what will be the effects on the financial industry.

On June 29 and June 30, 2023, experts from the CEE region will share their points on what’s to come in the fintech world. In Oradea, startup founders, central bank governors, corporate leaders and executives, VCs, and other key stakeholders will explore answers to the burning fintech questions. The event will be a gathering point for including leading global financial institutions, cutting-edge technology providers, and innovative startups focused on disrupting traditional financial services. Among the speakers will be representatives of the Romanian National Bank, Croatia National Bank, Hungarian National Bank, Bulgarian National Bank, Visa, Google, Ripple, and over 30 commercial banks.

Dedicated to helping build the future of finance, the Unchain Fintech Festival will feature a startup competition for the most promising growth-stage companies in Central and Eastern Europe. Admissions are open until May 25th, 2023, for fintech startups in these verticals to apply – financial infrastructure, insurance, regulatory compliance, payments & wallets, personal finance, investments & wealth management, lending & crowdfunding, crypto & blockchain, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity & fraud detection. They’ll have the opportunity to meet with potential investors, mentors, and accelerator program representatives. 30 hand-picked startups will present their ideas live on stage in front of the jury of some of CEE’s most successful investors including Elevator Venture, Depo Ventures, Credo Ventures, Fil Rouge Capital, Uniqa Ventures, Day One Capital, and many others.
