In a Nutshell

  • Relock, a Polish cybersecurity startup developing a technology to protect APIs, locked almost €1M as part of a pre-seed round, led by Early Game Ventures.
  • The investment is part of the VC’s fund II.

Get the Details

Relock is a cybersecurity startup, providing real-time protection of access to company’s APIs and data exchange, aiming to ensure immediate threat detection.

As fund’s representatives shared, Early Game invested in Relock’s pre-seed round due to the potential of its technology, both as an independent product and as a component integrated into broader solutions from companies like Okta or Kong. This is an example of a local VC investing in a CEE company.

Earlier this year, Romanian Early Game Ventures launched its second investment fund, with the total value of €60M. Their thesis states that they invest in technology startups from Romania and the region.

In Their Own Words

Marcin Sznyra, the founder and CTO of Relock, said: “The new high-frequency secrets rotation engine we developed bridges many security vulnerabilities. The early adopters have appreciated its value for APIs, as well as other critical uses, such as cloud assets or user security. Thanks to Early Game, we can accelerate our product development with the first applications coming soon.”

Overall, Early Game pre-seed investment in Relock confirms VC’s thesis of leading early rounds and providing capital to promising startups irrespective of their development stage or financial needs.

Investor’s Perspective

“As the digital environment becomes increasingly ingrained in our world, cybersecurity threats are constantly evolving. Investing in advanced cybersecurity solutions now holds the potential to not only address today’s critical problems, but also to become a transformative force for global technology as it matures,” shared Florin Visa, the Early Game Partner who oversees the deal.
