Catalyst Romania Fund I, a pioneering early-stage venture capital fund in Romania, has announced another successful exit from its portfolio with the acquisition of 123FormBuilder by Kiteworks, a global leader in secure content management solutions. This transaction marks the latest in a series of high-profile exits for Catalyst Romania Fund I, which has previously seen its investments acquired by major global players, including Vector Watch by FitBit (later acquired by Google), SmartBill by Visma, Vola by Resource Partners, and Green Horse Games by Miniclip, a Tencent subsidiary.

Business success story that began in Timisoara and ended in Silicon Valley

Founded in Timisoara, Romania, 123FormBuilder is a cloud-based platform that enables businesses to digitize and automate data collection workflows using online forms and surveys. The platform allows secure data and payment collection, integrating seamlessly with applications such as Salesforce. It serves a diverse global clientele of 35,000 customers, ranging from small businesses to large enterprises, helping them streamline operations and maintain regulatory compliance. Since its inception, 123FormBuilder has grown from its initial focus on English-speaking markets to offering multilingual solutions tailored to both SMEs and large enterprises.

123FormBuilder was a key investment in Catalyst Fund I, and we are proud to see the company entering its next phase of growth,” said Marius Ghenea, Managing Partner of Catalyst Romania.

“The acquisition by Kiteworks, a major player in secure private content management, validates the business success story that began in Timisoara. Kiteworks, based in Silicon Valley, recently closed a growth investment round of nearly half a billion dollars, putting them in an ideal position to build on 123FormBuilder’s achievements.”

Kiteworks is renowned for its mission to help organizations manage risk in every interaction involving sensitive content. The Kiteworks platform provides a Private Content Network that ensures content governance, compliance, and security, unifying and protecting sensitive data flows within, into, and out of organizations. The company safeguards over 100 million end users across thousands of global enterprises and government agencies.
