In a Nutshell

  • US WP Engine, a managed WordPress hosting platform, acquires Bulgarian IT company NitroPack.
  • This marks WP Engine’s eight acquisitions since its founding in 2010 and the second successful exit for NitroPack co-founders Georgi Petrov and Mihail Stoychev.

Next Steps in the Innovation World

NitroPack, founded in 2018, aims to boost site speed scores and pass Core Web Vitals with caching, CDN, image optimization, critical CSS, and more. According to their data, there are 219K websites using NitroPack. Their clients include Tiffany & Co, Stanford University, Instacart, and Reuters.

NitroPack’s Sofia office will become WP Engine’s seventh global office hub. Both teams will continue to collaborate to further accelerate the synergies.

The founders are on the path to launch a new company, focusing on user optimization, business analytics and performance after their new innovation Navigation AI was featured on Google IO 2024.

One of the innovations from their new venture is Navigation AI, showcased at Google I/O 2024. Navigation AI leverages advanced machine learning algorithms to predict user behavior and optimize website navigation paths in real-time. Based on the tests with early adopters, this aims to enhance user experience, engagement, and conversion rates.

Our new company will focus on linking web performance directly with tangible business results, recognizing that a fast website is a means to achieving greater business success,” shared the founders.

“We believe in a performance-first world, and as part of our vision for a faster online experience, we’re deeply committed to making a positive impact on our customers’ sites, their businesses, and the web as a whole,” they added.
