Biggest Funding Rounds for Romanian Startups in 2025

Biggest Funding Rounds for Romanian Startups in 2025, TheRecursive.com
~

After 2024, a year of stabilization for Romanian startups, 2025 has surpassed expectations. The most striking indicator of this shift is the sheer volume of capital; while 2024’s growth was characterized by incremental jumps and a flight to quality, a single landmark deal in 2025 (Dexory’s $165M Series C) has nearly matched the entire funding output of the 2024.

This surge, backed by a prestigious roster of international investors like Atomico and Eurazeo, signals that the ceiling for Romanian-founded companies has been permanently raised, transitioning the narrative from a promising regional tech hub to a consistent producer of global category leaders.

Beyond the record-breaking numbers, 2025 stands out as the year AI-native innovation and “Born Global” strategies became the ecosystem’s definitive standard.

Unlike the diverse but fragmented landscape of 2024, this year’s top rounds are dominated by capital-intensive technologies like robotics, enterprise AI agents, and specialized healthtech.

Below, you can find the biggest 2025 funding rounds in Romanian startups, along with key details about the startups. Check the rest of the Central and Eastern Europe 2025 mappings here.
