Dirty Data, Clean Decisions: What’s Really Shared at Venture Intelligence Day

Venture capital has no shortage of conferences. What’s rarer are gatherings where operators compare playbooks, not just portfolios. On October 29–30, Vestberry’s Venture Intelligence Day (VID) returns to Prague with a two-day program focused on the decisive work of turning data into decisions across a fund’s lifecycle.

As a media partner, we’ve followed the event since its European debut last year. In the meantime, they also had U.S. stop in New York this spring. The 2025 edition doubles down on the same thesis — operational excellence in venture increasingly depends on repeatable data practices: how firms source, underwrite, benchmark, and manage risk.

What’s on the table

Europe’s venture market is still digesting a reset: slower deployment, tougher follow-ons, and a sharper eye on portfolio quality. That environment rewards firms that can build reliable data pipelines across fundraising, dealflow, and portfolio management.

That is why VID’s sessions are built around practical application rather than product demos. Expect deep dives on:

    • AI-assisted deal sourcing and pipeline hygiene;
    • Dynamic portfolio risk management and scenario modeling;
    • Benchmarks that move beyond vanity metrics;
    • The realities of stitching together a modern VC tech stack;
    • Decoding market signals when private data is sparse and public data is noisy.

Workshops are led by investors and platform leaders who’ve been rebuilding their internal plumbing over the past few cycles — useful context in a year when fundraising, reserves, and exit timing all demand tighter, faster feedback loops.

The speaker slate blends capital allocators and finance/ops leads who live with the consequences of their dashboards. Confirmed names include Philipp Spenger (EIB), Ties Boukema (Dawn Capital), Jochen Küst (Earlybird), Keshvi Radia (Balderton Capital), Nataša Ralević (Angelini Ventures), and Ben Urwin (Giant Ventures), along with operators building infrastructure beneath the surface of European venture. It’s a roster aligned to the event’s remit: not punditry, but process.

Beyond the stage, VID fosters genuine connections through informal meetups, networking dinners and side activities that bring together the community in more relaxed settings.

What past attendees say?

Feedback from previous editions suggests the format hits a nerve among the people charged with making funds run smoother, and making numbers add up. Gabriela Manrique, Founding Partner at Angelini Ventures, refered how the meetup is a fantastic opportunity to connect with other platform leaders… “We’ve learned a lot about how they’re automating workflows, the tools they’re using, and the different ways they’re leveraging Vestberry to create real value.”

Inspiring to see VCs come together with a shared focus on data—how it shapes portfolios, strengthens tech stacks, and drives the future,” said Madin Akpo-Esambe, General Partner at Tacoma Venture Fund.

From the inaugural European edition, the themes were similar:

I love that there’s now a space focused on operations and finance, a place where we can dive into all the nerdy data stuff,” said Erik Vobis, Operations & Finance Manager at EnBW New Ventures.

“I’ve met quite a lot of interesting people and had some good conversations. I also like the size of the conference—it makes it really easy to connect,” added Jochen Küst, CFO at Earlybird.

Taken together, the testimonials paint a picture of a forum where the conversations are specific — workflow automation, data governance, modeling assumptions — rather than generic industry talk.
