Bulgarian Black Peak Capital, a private equity firm, has announced a strategic investment in Romanian Affinity Life Care, a private network of elderly care facilities in Romania, with the aim to support high-growth businesses across Southeast Europe.
Affinity is offering customized, round-the-clock support for seniors in its centrally located Bucharest nursing homes. Although the financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, the investment will provide the Romanian company with significant resources to execute its growth strategy. This includes scaling operations and investing in advanced technologies. The company’s leadership sees the partnership as a turning point that will enable it to strengthen its market position and prepare for expansion in other key regions nationwide.
“We are glad and grateful to join forces with a partner who shares the same values and long-term vision,” said Dragos Nicolae Iamandoiu, majority shareholder of Affinity Group.
The effects of their newest deal are expected to extend well beyond the company’s balance sheet. “Affinity represents the first investment by a private equity fund in Romania’s senior care sector, and we see it as a big responsibility towards current and future residents, employees, and the
industry,” shared Virgil Chitu, Romania Lead with BlackPeak Capital.
Strategic alignment and shared vision
Established in 2014, BlackPeak Capital deploys investments ranging from €5 to €15 million into rapidly expanding SMEs across Southeastern Europe, with a focus on innovation, sustainable growth, and measurable impact through its second fund. The firm targets sectors such as IT and software, specialized manufacturing, business services, healthcare, and consumer goods.
Its portfolio features standout investments like Verdino, a leading plant-based meat producer in the region, and euShipments, a key logistics integrator serving e-commerce businesses. In April, BlackPeak Capital has announced they made their first investment in Serbia, backing Kafeterija, a specialty coffee chain in the country, with growth equity funding.
