Tech.eu, the online publication dedicated to the growing European technology industry, is organizing the Tech.eu Summit on May 17, 2022, at the Brussels Expo. With the overarching goal to shape the best possible future for the European innovation ecosystems, the key focus of the summit will be on sustainable growth – access to the best skills, talent, expertise, capital, and markets. The summit will bring together more than 1800 on-site attendees and 2000 online participants, 100+ speakers, as well as 40+ booths showcasing companies’ products.
Robin Weuters, Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief at Tech.eu, shares with The Recursive: “The overarching theme we picked is ‘sustainable growth’, and we’ll be a successful event if we manage to have honest conversations about what that means from a European Tech ecosystem perspective.”
Good practices exchange between the West and the East
Leading European tech startup founders, operators, investors and corporate leaders will gather to inspire thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs and VCs. Bulgarian EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth – Mariya Gabriel, Chief Growth Officer of Austria-based investment platform Bitpanda – Irina Scarlat, Founder of Warsaw-based VC firm Experior VC – Kinga Stanislawska, and CEO of SaaS platform Plan A – Lubomila Jordanova are among the high-level speakers.
The summit aims to reinforce the exchange of good practices between Western and Eastern Europe, giving the entrepreneurs at the core of ecosystems the necessary support to scale up and expand internationally.
“When there is a sizable community of founders building great products and companies, all the other elements of what makes up a healthy innovation ecosystem (investors, policy, corporate partners etc.) generally come into play at one point or another.
In that sense, sharing best practices between the West and the East of Europe shouldn’t necessarily be about funding or policy, but more about the central question: how do we get and nurture the best entrepreneurs within our own ecosystem, so they have a chance to uplift the entire community in their wake,” Robin Weuters points out.
Some of the key topics that the summit will address include:
- Bootstrapping, building, and scaling the most impactful unicorns (and decacorns) out of Europe;
- Attracting, recruiting, and retaining the best talent available in the post-2020 world;
- Diversifying the region’s investor base and building innovative models to shape the best possible future for the European VC and PE communities.
