6 CEE FemTech Startups to Watch

6 CEE FemTech Startups to Watch, TheRecursive.com
~

FemTech is considered one of the most underfunded startup sectors, even though the market is expected to grow significantly, with an estimated 2024 market size of US $39.29 billion, projected to reach US $97.25 billion by 2030 (CAGR ~16.37% from 2025–2030).

Nevertheless, we’re still at a very early stage for the femtech industry, which accounted for just about 1% of total healthtech investments in 2022, according to Speedinvest research. In the EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa), funding fell by roughly 40% compared to the 2021 boom.

Europe’s first femtech unicorn, Flo Health, actually originated in Belarus. Founded in 2015 by Dmitry Gurski and his brother Yuri Gurski, Flo Health is the company behind the popular mobile app Flo, which allows users to track menstrual cycles, ovulation, pregnancy, perimenopause/menopause, symptoms, and other women’s-health signals. In July 2024, Flo Health raised over US$200 million in a Series C round from General Atlantic, crossing a valuation of US$1 billion.

Across Europe, several emerging players are gaining traction in areas such as maternal mental health, women’s digital health coaching, and more. Below are six startups currently building strong momentum.
