The last two years have been very challenging, but they have also opened new horizons for innovation and technological advancement to improve the quality of our lives. To explore new tech trends and take a more human-centered approach, DevTalks Romania, the largest expo conference for software developers and IT professionals in Romania, will hold its annual conference in Bucharest from the 8th to the 10th of June, 2022.
This year the main theme of the conference will be “AI & Innovation. Humanity Reimagined”. It will gather leading speakers and tech professionals who will reflect on how humanity has benefited from technological advancement and set expectations for the future.
The 8th edition of the DevTalks conference is organized by Catalyst Solutions SRL, a recruitment consulting company, and will be held both online and in-person and will give the stage to 100+ international and local speakers. The event is expected to attract 8,000 tech enthusiasts and IT professionals and welcome 400 guests in-person on each of the three days of the conference. There will be 15 stages, covering areas such as Java, DevOps, Mobile, Future of Engineering, Web, QA & Testing, CodeClash, Women In Tech, Big Data and Cloud, Security, DevLead, and Product Management, among others. The main stage will be kept for discussions on the latest trends in the metaverse, crypto, blockchain, and decision intelligence. There will be a physical exhibition area and daily networking sessions with event speakers and other guests.

We will be debating AI & Innovation. Humanity Reimagined, a topic that comes to our attention as a deepening of the changes that technology has brought us in the last 2 years. We will analyze the accelerated transformation of the IT environment and include among the main topics the evolution of metaverse, web 3.0, and NFTs. ” says Andreea Balaci, Delivery Manager of Catalyst Solutions.
Humanity Reimagined
Among the local speakers of the conference will be Andrei Coșoi, Technical Director at EA SPORTS FIFA, a non-profit organization with a focus on football, futsal, and beach soccer, who will analyze recent trends in GameDev engineering. Andrei Marinoiu, QA Consultant at Accesa, will try to answer the question of whether testers are suffering from cognitive bias, and how to adopt a security mindset. Claudiu Rontu, Senior Consultant at Deloitte ERDC, a business consulting company, will dive into Machine Learning Operations and how to take AI from the lab to production.
Renowned international speakers and experts will also take part in the conference. Dmitry Vinnik, Open Source Developer Advocate at Meta, will talk about measuring project health in Open Source; Leigh Felton, Chief of Staff & GTM Leader at Microsoft, will talk about the principles of responsible AI and how they can be applied in practice. Professor Sethu Vijayakumar, Programme Director and Professor of Robotics at The Alan Turing Institute, London, and The University of Edinburgh, will explore the future of interactive robotics driven by AI. Michael Mylrea, Senior Distinguished Engineer at Resilience, a US tech company that aims to disrupt medicine by ushering in Industry 4.0, will talk about Manufacturing in the Metaverse and how to secure AI-Driven Digital Twins & Distributed Ledgers of Things. Humberto J. La Roche, Principal Engineer at Cisco Systems, will talk about different applications and use cases for wireless technology in the enterprise.
The DevTalks Romania community was established in 2014 and since then it has hosted many events with a focus on technology and innovation receiving more than 10,000 attendees throughout the years. With events like DevTalks Bucharest, DevTalks Cluj, DevCon, and DevAfterWork, the community has gained popularity among many tech enthusiasts, IT professionals, businesses, and startups.
In 2021, during the pandemic, DevTalks managed to organize an online conference and attract over 8 000 tech enthusiasts who attended 100 live sessions given by lecturers from around the world. During the event, the participants were also involved in various contests and workshops prepared by 20 Romanian IT companies and 26 start-ups. This was the first Romanian IT conference of such magnitude held in digital format.
