CEE tech startup fund Movens Capital has announced the launch of its second fund, a €60 million vehicle aimed at supporting technology startups from Central and Eastern Europe.

Backed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), PFR Ventures, and more than 80 individual investors, including over 40 tech operators and entrepreneurs, the fund targets early to growth-stage companies with global potential.

Fund 2 has already closed €40 million as of Q2 2025 and will provide initial investments ranging from €250,000 to €3 million at the pre-seed, seed, and Series A+ stages.

Movens’ Fund 2 encompasses Poland, the Balkans, the Baltic states, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. The fund will also back founders from Ukraine and Moldova.

New fund targets 30 investments across high-growth sectors

The fund follows Movens Capital’s first fund, whose portfolio companies collectively raised over €110 million in follow-on funding.

Movens aims to make approximately 30 investments from this new fund, with at least 10 targeting Series A+ rounds. The fund will focus on sectors including enterprise software, healthcare, fintech, climate tech, education, and the future of work, with particular attention given to AI projects.

This region never lacked talent. What’s missing is the capital and operational support needed to turn early traction into global growth,” said Artur Banach, Managing Partner at Movens Capital. “Movens Capital is the launch pad for ambitious CEE founders aiming for global leadership.”

Backing CEE startups with capital and hands-on support across key tech sectors

Alongside providing capital, Movens supports its portfolio companies with operational guidance, drawing on the team’s experience in areas such as AI, pricing, and business growth. This support spans various stages of a startup’s development, including product refinement, team expansion, and planning for future funding.

Movens’ portfolio includes startups such as Alokai (formerly Vue Storefront), Packhelp (exited), SKY ENGINE AI, Talkie.ai, Certifier, Trasti, Doctor.one, and Fenige (exited).

We are delighted to back Movens’ new fund and help empower the next generation of tech founders in Central and Eastern Europe,” said Anne Fossemalle, Director, Equity Funds at EBRD. “This partnership is vital to scaling innovative companies in the region.”

The first investments from Fund 2 are already underway, with deal announcements expected later this summer. Movens will continue to back founders working on breakthrough technologies in AI infrastructure, embedded financial services, and climate resilience.
