The home country of the founders is not always the best market for startups to launch their products. So, nowadays, more and more entrepreneurs choose alternative locations to get started.

One example is 7Security, founded by Bulgarian entrepreneur Pavel Kaminsky. The startup provides various compliance and certification solutions to merchants and payment service providers. Even though the company still operates partly from Sofia, Kaminsky decided to launch 7Security in the Austrian capital Vienna.

In an interview for Trending Topics, he shares why he picked Austria and how the Austrian Business Agency (ABA) helped him set up 7Security in Austria.

Why Austria?

According to Kaminsky, Austria was an obvious choice because of the country’s great location, which makes traveling to European countries quite easy. Many of 7Security’s customers are now one idea closer and know there’s someone nearby who can reach them in no time if needed. Another reason he chose Vienna was because of the business-friendly environment and widespread usage of the English language.

Kaminsky says that the process of setting up a business in Austria was straightforward. He goes on to explain that founders receive lots of assistance and additional resources.

How did the Austrian Business Agency (ABA) help?

Kaminsky shares that ABA played a key role in his decision to select Austria as the destination for 7Security’s international expansion. Through its online webinars, the organization helped him better understand the situation in the country.

The quality of life in Austria

The quality of life in Vienna is amazing, for families in particular, says Kaminsky. He pays special attention to the clean air as well as the various green spaces and states that the country is a great place for raising children.
