Imagine working in an environment where front and back-end developers, test engineers, project managers, team leaders, business development managers and marketing people thrive together and collaborate on hundreds of projects with clients across the whole world.

That’s Droxic story today – the Sofia-based company was founded 10 years ago by three friends – Ilian Krustev, Pavel Simov, Tsvetomir Bozhkov, all of which had the experience and ambition to start a digital agency that will help startups and businesses develop, grow and achieve their goals.

By offering professional consulting expertise and specifically-tailored tech solutions, the company’s team of over 70 people across Bulgaria, Serbia, the UK and Germany, is set out to provide its clients with immense digital experiences, such as creating digital platforms or developing digital strategies for growing their businesses.

Building your own business has a lot of positive and negative sides, and requires people management skills, and an attitude toward driving long-term successful client relationships. We enjoy all the aspects every single day,” the founders say.

Having started from scratch and with a limited investment, at the beginning Droxic initially worked mostly with digital and IT companies.

Later on it faced different challenges – for instance, at one point the company had to either reach breakeven after 6 months or bankrupt, which only helped Droxic to become stronger.

Thus, over the years, the Bulgarian company managed to broaden its portfolio and become one of the most progressive digital agencies.

Over 100 happy clients and more than 300 projects

Since 2012, Droxic has worked on 300+ projects with more than a 100 clients, with its core segments in regions such as the Nordics, DACH and the UK.

The company’s dedicated work and values such as transparent quotes, meeting deadlines and providing outstanding quality resulted in having plenty of international companies and brands as clients.

Droxic also prides itself with its versatile expertise – for example, the company’s team crafted complex digital platforms for Germany-based food delivery company Lieferheld, helped road trip app Ally with providing a seamless customer experience for its users, and also developed a top digital marketing strategy for Belgian beer company Affligem.

“I had developers from Droxic working in my teams for either Android, iOS, Python and JS development. All of their people were nice, competent and fun to work with,” Matthias Pfaff, head of customer experience at Lieferheld, recalls.

Such examples are only a part of the company’s extensive portfolio, which grows by the day and includes clients such as Gasag, Grohe, BMW and Lufthansa.

We keep our promises and this is how we build long-term relationships and get the most out of our partnerships. Yes, we have companies that we have worked with since the very beginning of Droxic’s journey,” the company points out.

Building on its success and expanding

Keeping its team spirit and company policy are a first priority for Droxic during this process, as the company now looks to grow its team to 100-120 people over the next couple of years.

And for those working at Droxic, the opportunities for career development are vast. Senior iOS Developer Galin Yonchev is one of them – having been in the company for more than five years, Yonchev thrives when faced with interesting and challenging projects.

I like the freedom I am given to make decisions about my career development, but more than anything I like my Droxic colleagues’ attitude and the friendly atmosphere. It’s never boring here at Droxic and our team buildings are legendary, trust me,” Yonchev says.

Currently, he is working on a project for a large company that offers IoT solutions in the water supply field, where he is responsible for the iOS mobile application.

“The project is very interesting because of the cross-team communication and collaboration. I am constantly in touch with the people who produce the devices that the app manages. We have to ensure that those are connected properly. At the same time, we try to deliver appealing intuitive UX, while everything runs smoothly and quickly,” Yonchev says.

As a software engineer, Yonchev faces new and challenging cases on a daily basis, and when working with a team such as the one at Droxic, there’s never a dull moment, he adds.

“The atmosphere and the projects here are what make me wanna go to work every day without looking at the clock every 5-10 minutes. When I face a challenge that I can’t solve at the moment, there is immediately someone willing to help with advice. I honestly didn’t realize when these five years passed, because time flies fast and pleasantly here at Droxic,” Yonchev emphasizes.

Java senior developer, Java Team Lead, and business development manager are just some of open positions that the company has right now, and is always on the lookout to add fresh talent with technical knowledge and expertise to its team and become an integral part of its #DroxicGang culture.
