Warsaw-based edtech company Coding Giants, known in Poland as Giganci Programowania, has secured up to €6 million in venture debt from Orbit Capital, a Central and Eastern European growth investor. The financing will support the company’s international expansion, with the US and Mexico among its main priorities.

Founded in 2017, Coding Giants teaches programming, artificial intelligence and mathematics to students aged 6 to 19 through online and in-person classes. More than 130,000 students have taken part in its programmes, and the company generates around $15 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR). Its international footprint includes the US, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Germany and several Balkan markets.

Minecraft, Roblox and personalised learning

Coding Giants builds its courses around digital environments familiar to younger audiences, including Minecraft and Roblox. Its AI-powered tools adapt learning materials to students’ progress, while a community of nearly 1,000 instructors combines technical knowledge with teaching experience.

Beyond its paid courses, the company runs Gigathon, a programming competition in Poland, as well as clickON, a free nationwide coding initiative supported by the Polish Ministry of Education.

For co-founder Dawid Leśniakiewicz, the goal extends beyond teaching children to use specific technologies. Programming, AI and mathematics help develop the logical thinking skills young people need to understand technology and participate in creating it.

Venture debt to fund the next stage of growth

The latest financing follows Coding Giants’ €8.5 million equity round in December 2024, led by True Global Ventures. By adding venture debt to its funding mix, the company can access additional capital for expansion without issuing new equity as part of this transaction.

Orbit Capital manages more than €200 million across its venture debt and growth equity investment vehicles. General Partner Wiktor Namysł said the financing is suited to companies that have established a viable business model, generated meaningful revenue and demonstrated their ability to expand internationally.

For Coding Giants, the funding provides additional resources to pursue growth while building on its existing business.

From European growth to transatlantic expansion

The company already has a presence in Mexico, which is expected to play an important role in its expansion across the Americas. CEO Radosław Kulesza said the new capital would help accelerate growth in Spain and across the region, through both organic expansion and acquisitions.

The next stage will test how effectively Coding Giants can replicate its existing model in new markets. Expanding internationally requires more than adapting educational content: the company will also need to build local customer relationships, develop its instructor network and compete in markets with their own established education providers.
