Croatian-founded SplxAI, a company specializing in cybersecurity for AI chatbots, today announced it has closed $7 million (€6.49 million) in seed funding, led by LAUNCHub Ventures and with participation from Rain Capital, Inovo, Runtime Ventures, DNV Ventures, and South Central Ventures.

LAUNCHub General Partner Stan Sirakov is joining the SplxAI Board of Directors, while former Brand Engagement Network CISO Sandy Dunn is stepping in as Chief Information Security Officer to lead the development of SplxAI’s GRC offering.

The funding will drive the advancement and adoption of the SplxAI Platform, helping organizations protect their internal AI agents and customer-facing AI applications with automated security testing, dynamic remediation, and continuous AI system monitoring.

AI chatbot security meets proactive threat detection

Founded in 2024 by Kristian Kamber and Ante Gojsalić, the company set out to address significant security gaps in AI chatbots. They developed their flagship platform, Probe, designed to proactively detect and mitigate vulnerabilities in chatbot systems before malicious actors can exploit them. This stands out as especially critical as businesses increasingly depend on AI chatbots for customer service, replacing conventional support teams.

“Our mission is to re-define how security leaders and AI practitioners test their AI applications and agentic workflows,” said Kristian Kamber, CEO & Co-founder, SplxAI.

According to Gartner, the integration of agentic AI in enterprise software applications is projected to rise from less than 1% in 2024 to 33% by 2028. This significant increase indicates a shift towards more autonomous AI systems capable of independent decision-making.

Kamber also emphasizes that deploying AI agents at scale brings significant complexity, leading to potential vulnerabilities that only thorough and continuous testing can reveal.

Given the rapid advancements in LLMs, Kamber notes that manual testing is no longer a viable option

SplxAI sees 127% quarter-over-quarter growth

The SplxAI Platform is working across a diverse range of modalities  —  including text, images and voice with the goal to simulate sophisticated adversarial scenarios that mimic the tactics of highly skilled attackers. Their platform is built upon a comprehensive attack database, continuously updated using SplxAI’s proprietary research engine to include the latest threats and vulnerabilities.

AI agents have the potential to re-define the business landscape, but as their adoption increases, so does the potential for abuse,” said Stan Sirakov, General Partner, LAUNCHub Ventures. “SplxAI is the only vendor with a plan for managing this risk at scale. We are proud to advance the state of agentic AI security through our investment in SplxAI.”

Last year, SplxAI raised €1.8 million in a pre-seed funding round. The round was led by Inovo.vc, with participation from South Central Ventures, Runtime Ventures, and angel investors: David Politis, founder of BetterCloud with Elad Schulman, whose company Segasec was acquired in 2020 by Mimecast.

According to their data, SplxAI has experienced 127% quarter-over-quarter growth since launching the platform in August 2024. Some of their customers include KPMG, Infobip, Brand Engagement Network, and Glean.

“Gen AI is disrupting everything including enterprise security. SplxAI is well-positioned to be a central player in the market,” said Dr. Chenxi Wang, Managing General Partner, Rain Capital.
