Serbian Ominimo has secured first part of funding for the ongoing Series B round, backed by the investment arm of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The deal assigns the Novi Sad-headquartered startup a valuation of €1.48 billion ($1.60 billion), officially making it Serbia’s first tech unicorn. Over roughly 15 months, Ominimo expanded its business from a valuation of €212.75 million ($230.00 million) during its Series A round (May 2025) lead by Zurich Insurance Group, to $1.6 billion valuation and unicorn status. Ominimo is not disclosing the Series B amount at the moment as some investors will still join subsequently.
Polish energy startup Pstryk has secured €7M in funding to scale its mobile-first platform, which helps households manage electricity consumption through dynamic pricing. The round was backed by Future Energy Ventures, Axpo, Montis, and existing investors. Pstryk combines dynamic electricity tariffs with digital energy management. Alongside the funding round, the company also expanded its leadership team to support its next phase of growth.
Slovenian GenePlanet, a genomics and laboratory company providing genetic testing and next-generation sequencing (NGS) services, has received a strategic investment from healthtech-focused investor Lauxera Capital Partners. As part of the transaction, BlackPeak Capital, which first invested in GenePlanet in 2023, has partially exited its stake while remaining a shareholder in the company.
Bulgarian startup Nanogram has secured $2.2M (€1.91M) in fresh funding. The capital comes from three investment funds: Ohio-based Drive Capital, which invested $500,000, Bulgarian LAUNCHub Ventures, which contributed $900,000, and Polish Inovo, which invested $700,000. The round also included angel investors, bringing the company's post-money valuation to approximately $11 million.
Czech healthtech startup Carebot has raised more than €1.5M in its largest funding round to date, alongside the launch of a new AI-powered mammography solution. The round was led by Garage Angels and Electron Capital Partners, with JIC Ventures joining as a new investor alongside existing backers Gain Ventures and Eva Janečková. The fresh capital will fund the development of new AI-driven diagnostic tools. As it scales across Europe and beyond, Carebot is also preparing a larger investment round of up to €10 million to support its next phase of global growth.
Croatian space tech startup Genesis Space Flight Laboratories secured €1.2M from GapMinder and Fil Rouge Capital. Founded in 2025 by microbiology researcher Bence Mátyás, Genesis is developing a reusable infrastructure platform for microgravity research based on autonomous space capsules. The investment will support the development of state-of-the-art technology for reusable space capsules, the launch of the first commercial missions, and the expansion of the company’s operations, with the goal of making microgravity research more accessible globally.
Lithuanian startup Sigvi has raised €1.2M in a pre-seed funding round led by Superhero Capital, with participation from angel investors including LitBAN Chairman Vladas Lašas. Founded in 2023, the company is developing an AI-powered operating system for independent car rental operators, helping automate fleet management, pricing, and rental operations. The funding will support product development and the company's expansion across Europe.
Croatian AYMO Ventures, that debuted last summer with €52M fund, invested in Croatian legal tech startup Yure, an AI platform made for legal professionals and grounded in the law they work with, so research and drafting takes considerably less time. Founded by Matija Peric, Luka Pavlović and Marko Bosnjak, Yure.ai is already in daily use at leading domestic law firms like Porobija & Špoljarić and Croatian companies like INA, Sofascore and PPD.
Lithuanian Ordero, a startup developing a meal-ordering platform for schools, kindergartens, and businesses, has secured a €150,000 investment from venture capital funds FIRSTPICK and Lost Astronaut. The fresh funding will support continued product development, with the company aiming to expand to more than 100 partners across Poland over the next 12 months.
Partnerships across the region
Ukrainian drone company EDRONE has partnered with Romanian technology firm OVES Enterprise to establish drone production in Romania. The joint initiative will manufacture Ukrainian-designed drones using Romanian industrial capabilities, combining combat-proven UAV technology with local production expertise. The project aims to support European defense demand and strengthen regional defense manufacturing capacity.
The companies will manufacture drones at a facility in Cluj-Napoca, with production set to begin in autumn 2026. In its initial phase, the facility is expected to produce around 1,000 drones per month, including FPV drones, interceptor drones, and reconnaissance UAVs, while employing approximately 30 people.
