The Bulgarian-rooted software company Chaos announced the acquisition of EvolveLAB, a developer of AI software for professionals in architecture, engineering, and construction. EvolveLAB’s AI-based products optimize visualization, generative design, documentation, and technology interoperability in the sector.

With the acquisition of EvolveLAB, Chaos expands its suite of technological solutions for every step of the workflow for architects and designers, from initial idea generation to the final visualization of a project. The company already boasts an established portfolio of technologies for 3D visualization and animation in architecture, including Enscape, Envision, Corona, V-Ray, and Vantage.

EvolveLAB’s AI-powered solutions aims to strengthen Chaos’ portfolio

EvolveLAB was founded in 2015 in the United States. It aims to provide generative AI technology into architectural modeling software, combining text-based idea descriptions (prompts) with 3D geometry. Through its software Veras, EvolveLAB delivers these features to users of leading design and modeling software like SketchUp, Revit, Vectorworks, and others.

“EvolveLAB’s tools are already actively used by the professional community for their innovative design and automation of complex processes. Together, we will continue to develop these technologies, offering even better opportunities for creating personalized projects,” says Stefan Seiber, CEO of Chaos.

Chaos, founded in 1997 in Sofia, Bulgaria by Peter Mitev and Vladimir Koylazov, is now one of the world’s largest 3D visualization companies, with over 700 employees and offices worldwide.

“Chaos is known in the industry as a company focused on the needs of designers, which is extremely important for everyone we work with,” says Bill Allen, CEO of EvolveLAB. “We are joining forces to accelerate our AI developments while adding a new important component to Chaos’ portfolio.”

According to their data, before the acquisition, professionals in the architectural and construction sectors worked with a combination of EvolveLAB and Chaos tools to speed up their design processes and project modifications.
