BlackPeak Capital Invests €8M in a a Bulgarian Electronics Manufacturing Firm

  • Bulgarian BlackPeak Capital has announced an investment of €8 million in “Security Smart Systems” Ltd., a Bulgarian electronics manufacturing services company. 

An investment to drive Growth and modernization, boosting local economy

Founded in 1994 by four engineers, Security Smart Systems has 30 years of experience in electronic and electromechanical products. The company is based in Vratsa, Bulgaria, currently employing over 200 people.

The recent €8M investment by BlackPeak Capital aims to modernize and expand production, attract skilled management, and broaden services in collaboration with majority shareholder, Stark Invest. 

The new investments aim to enhance the company’s competitiveness and benefit the local economy.

“We are confident that with the introduction of professional management and the provision of capital for modernization and capacity expansion, we will continue to build on the company’s solid foundation,” said Kiril Ivanov, Partner at BlackPeak Capital, investing in fast-growing SMEs across Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia. Its second fund, BlackPeak Southeast Europe Growth Equity Fund, partners with regional entrepreneurs to build companies through innovation, growth, and acquisitions. 

New leadership at Security Smart Systems focuses on lean methodologies

The new management team of Security Smart Systems includes Georgi Atanasov and Sashka Stanislavova. Atanasov, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Dresden, Germany, has spent the past 13 years leading production companies in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria for Festo, a global leader in industrial automation components. 

“With the strong foundation of professionalism and loyalty built over the years, we are focused on introducing lean methodologies and small-group work structures. This will allow us to develop capable team leaders who can independently solve problems and drive continuous improvement within their areas,” said Atanasov.

Ivo Varganov, who has managed the company for the past 30 years, will remain in the role of Technical Director and serve as an advisor to the new management team
